Why should I signup?
Signing up allows you to post adverts, post personal profiles and view contact
details. If you are looking for a flatshare, you can 'Save a Search' so that
we will send you regular emails of new house shares that are added.
Do we use cookies?
Yes, we make use of temporary cookies so that we can make the using of the
site as easy as possible for you. For instance, we store your last search
criteria so that you don’t have to re-key the same information
USING THE SITE
How can I update my profile?
You can change your profile as often as you wish, select ‘My Account’ and
then ‘My Profile’
I have forgotten password
Click ‘Send Password’ on the login box (top left). Your login
details will be emailed to you.
How can I find a flatmate?
Using either the ‘Quick Search’ or ‘Advanced Search’ (top
right) you can specify criteria to search our database. We suggest
that your first search is as general as possible to return the most properties.
Refine your criteria to get the best match.
How can I save a property I like the look of?
When viewing properties in either the ‘Summary View’ or ‘Detail
View’, clicking ‘Save’ will save the property to a favourites
list. You can view your favourite properties from ‘Favourites’, ‘Favourite
Properties’
How can I make sure I never again see a property I am not interested in?
When viewing properties in either the ‘Summary View’ or ‘Detail
View’, clicking ‘Discard’ will save the property to a
Discarded list. You can manage your Discarded properties from ‘Favourites’, ‘Discarded
Properties’
What areas do you cover?
Hunt For A Property covers house shares and flatshares in all of the UK,
including Northern Ireland.
Can I remove my advert?
When your advert is no longer needed you can ‘deactivate’ it.
Once deactivated, it will not be shown to any other searchers. We will keep
all of your details so that you can re-activate your advert at any time in
the future.
Do I need an email address to use the service?
You only need an email address if you decide to register. If you don’t
have an email address you can get one from www.gmail.com
How do people contact me?
When people request your contact details, they will be given a choice to
contact you by phone or email. If they choose email, we will send you an
email informing you that you have a new message (You can also see this in
the ‘Summary panel’ to the left. You can read your messages by
selecting ‘My Account’, ‘Messages’. We do not divulge
your email address to searchers.
How can I change my password?
Select ‘My Account’, ‘My Details’ and follow the
instructions.

How do I upload a photo?
You can upload photos of your house or flat that have been taken by your
camera, phone or scanned. Copy these photos to your PC and then it is easy
to upload them to your advert when you are either creating or editing it.
Photos must be JPG format but can be of any size or orientation.
Because of the diversity of phones and cameras we can’t give you detailed
advice about how to transfer photos to you PC but there are 3 main methods
you might choose:

Connect the phone of camera to your computer
by the supplied cable. Often you will be able to access the pictures
using ‘Explore’ (Right mouse click on Start) |
Memory Stick |
The phone or camera will have a memory
stick that you can insert into your PC. You will be able to access
the pictures using ‘Explore’ (Right mouse click on Start) |
Bluetooth |
Connect your phone of camera to your PC
via Bluetooth. Using the software on your PC, transfer the photos from
your camera or phone to your PC. |
